Top 20 Women’s Fashion Editors to Follow on Twitter

November 10, 2014

Top 10 Women's Fashion Editors to Follow on TwitterGetting in touch with an editor at the largest fashion publications can be challenging, and although we recommend starting with email pitches, there’s another way to consider getting in touch with your favorite fashion editor.

Considering that many fashion editors list Twitter as their favorite social media network, it’s a good idea to start following them to familiarize yourself with them, the types of products they love or any upcoming stories they might be working on. But, just like email pitches, it’s important to follow some simple guidelines.

If you choose to connect with the publication of your dreams on Twitter, be sure to:

  • Do your research and know exactly who you’re contacting and what that editor covers— tweet accordingly.
  • Remember tweets are public and should be personalized and used sparingly.
  • Follow the person you’d like to connect with, so if they’re interested they can send you a direct message.

A popular Mashable post, “The Do’s and Don’ts of Pitching Journalists on Social Media,” covers the basics more in depth, but the most important thing to keep in mind is that there is a right and wrong way to reach out to editors that could just be the answer to getting your company noticed.
